The growers, G&F, operate over ten washing stations strategically located in Yirgacheffe and Guji, with their export processing centre in Addis Ababa. The Idido washing station is sited at an elevation around 2,000 meters above sea level in Yirgacheffe, and receives cherries grown in the surrounding area. The distinct wet and dry seasons create ideal conditions for coffee processing. Farmers handpick the cherries and deliver them to the washing station, where a meticulous hand-sorting process removes under-ripe or damaged cherries. The cherries are then pulped and fermented for 72 hours.
After fermentation, the parchment is washed in clean water and transferred to raised drying beds. The beans are evenly distributed on these beds, and regularly turned to achieve uniform drying. The coffee remains here for 12 to 15 days, reaching the optimal moisture content before undergoing hulling and preparation for export.

Once you place an order with us through our website your delivery will typically leave on a next day delivery service, with exception for the Highlands & Islands which will take 2 or 3 days. We will notify you of your delivery details so you are kept informed until the point of receipt. We use dpd for UK deliveries. Their current prices for most packages that will be suitable for our coffee deliveries are £6.47 or £3.59 respectively, including VAT. For £6.47, packages will be delivered directly to your address. For £3.59, packages will be delivered to a collection point, usually a nearby shop where you can pick up the package.These are current prices and are subject to change.
